We have a lot of new monsters in the works. Way back at the beginning of the original AdventureQuest in 2002... we used to have LAUNCH NIGHTS. They were Tuesdays. A hundred to two hundred players would gather and hang out to be the first to see new monsters, sometimes the community would get involved in naming (or re-naming them), collaboratively we would brain storm creative things to do with them together, and more. (More = PUNS of course) It was a lot of fun. So why not do it again? When? How about right here. Right now. Read below and if an idea strikes you, make a comment about it :D
Sentient tree monsters speak softly, but ARE big sticks. Similar to their Treant and Deadwood brethren, these are intelligent tree monsters are a dangerous threat the the inexperienced traveler. Often found in lush magic-filled forests, they are very protective of the woods. Any invader... from Humans, Drakels, to even Moglins are considered a threat. Being made of wood, they are very weak against fire... and prone to being engulfed in flame (feature not yet implimented.) But weapons using elemental light will heal them and cause them to grow.
The concept for the tree monster was drawn by Thyton, modeled by Xero, and textured by both Thyton and Dage. It was based on the Clawg's animation skeleton-- Korin will be animating any additional attacks.
