Trobble Brewing... Blog?
This is gonna be short... but let me set the scene. It was a day like any other when Artix reached out and asked me for some DuckyDucky items for the Massively Overpowered creator and friend of the company (And Artix, of course!). So, I decided house items would be a fun addition, and we could have a rather quick turnaround on them since the model was already made. I reached out to Artix Entertainment veteran and the creator of all the new amazing maps you've been seeing, Yergen. You guys might not know this, but Yergen is kind of like a well-sharpened multi-tool and is my super dependable go-to guy for like... almost anything. Need a map for a release? Yergen, need a modified version of a weapon? He's gotcha! Something needs to be converted into a house item? Well, lemme tell ya Yergen has your back.
As you guys saw yesterday, he obviously delivered as he always does. But then, casually in a meeting we were having featuring Alina, Oishii, Yergen, and myself... he offhandedly mentions (and to be clear I'm paraphrasing) "You know, the DuckyDucky model is basically just a Trobble I could use the same process to make a bunch of Trobbles we could have as drops using our global loot system" to which I was like "Oh that's cool, yeah we can do that". So, I expected to see a few Trobbles slide into my Discord DMs at some point. However, things never quite go as expected... do they?
It was near the end of the work day, I shot Yergen a message to talk about the new Battleon, the new Greenguard Region, and where we wanna talk the story after that. We talked about how this revamp doesn't exactly need to follow the route of the original story, and we could introduce new locations. Like that port town I revealed in a previous post. I'll post it here as a refresher.
We agreed that this unnamed port town will probably be the next location we visit once Greenguard is wrapped up. Discussions continued on, and we kicked around ideas for the third saga... Which I want to share, but I feel like the surprise of discovering it for yourself once it's released would be way more fun. But... that leads us to the event that led to the name of this little blog post. Yergen turned on his screen share and opened showed me what he was working on. On screen was a Trobble. Completely normal, nothing strange about that. But then he showed me another... and another... and another... Yergen had been casually making Trobbles all day, even during the previous meeting, while also working on the new Battleon. I kid you not, I think there were at least 50 Trobbles of different patterns and color schemes. With that, I had one request...
"Yergen..." I said... before continuing, "Can you make it black with orange eyes?" "Of course" he responded. "Let me grab a reference really quick."
I present to you... a preview of one of the many Trobbles to join AdventureQuest 3D in the near future.
Battle On!
