Hiya heroes! As Artix gamers, we are no strangers to the creativity, community, and endless possibilities that our IRL and in-game worlds provide. But now, VRChat is taking all that to the next level – and we all have Sir Arthur to thank!
Today we have the privilege of talking with the trailblazer of the virtual realm, Sir Arthur the Crusader. Let’s unravel the magic of VRChat, discover the inspirations that fuel Sir Arthur’s creativity (besides compensation from Artix 😊), and uncover the extraordinary story of how he brought Battleon into VRChat.
But first…
VRChat is the wild-wild-WILD west of internet chatrooms. VRChat is an anything-goes virtual reality platform that allows users to create, explore, and interact with others within a seemingly endless metaverse. Since its launch on Steam in 2017, VRChat has been gaining immense popularity for its social interactions, user-generated content, immersive experiences, and… some really wacky stuff, to put it lightly.
Users can create unique avatars and environments, opening up endless possibilities for socializing, gaming, and creativity within the virtual realm – which is exactly what Sir Arthur the Crusader has done! So without further ado, let’s begin this interview!
Beleen: Thank you so much for joining us today, Sir Arthur the Crusader! Could you start by telling us a bit about yourself, and what’s your history playing Artix games?
Sir Arthur the Crusader: Thank you for having me, it is truly an honor. I have played Artix games for more than half my life, 12 years to be precise. I started with AQW back in my elementary school days, I wasn't very good but I still had so much fun!
Beleen: Oh wow that’s incredible! Always happy to meet long-time AQW players :) But you know what, I’ve actually never played VRChat before! Care to share a memorable moment or experience that stood out in VRChat?
Sir Arthur the Crusader: Oh that's a real tough one. I've played it for such a long time and so many things happened, I believe the best experience I've had was throwing one of my friends into the stratosphere!
Beleen: Oh boy, that does sound… out of this world ;) Besides hurling your friends into space, what do you think sets VRChat apart from other virtual reality platforms or games in general?
Sir Arthur the Crusader: VRChat is more of a social game than anything - hence its name - but there's an infinite amount of things to do in VRChat: visit a beach, survive a zombie apocalypse, watch actual movies. There's nothing else like it; it's truly a one of a kind experience.
Beleen: What fun! It sounds like my IRL life, minus the zombies. *knocks on wood* Don’t get any funny ideas, 2024! */end foreshadowing*
So tell us Sir Arthur, what can Artix gamers and other users do in your VRChat version of Battleon?
Sir Arthur the Crusader: Apart from a limitless and zero boundary exploration experience? I've done what I can to try and make Battleon in VRChat a memorable experience; you can climb the buildings and walls, swim in the bodies of water, go into every available interior, even board the airship in the Trade District! There is also a house within the Trade district that has a room to watch any video you desire, and Yulgar's has food and drink for everyone to enjoy! (It's not a substitute for real food, please don't forget to actually eat.)
Beleen: OMG wow! That all sounds awesomesauce! Do you think you can give us some hints on what's coming next? Maybe I heard something about a Player Showcase…? Will we get to explore Battleon… and beyond?!
Sir Arthur the Crusader: Ah yes a player showcase. I left Battleon mostly devoid of NPCs, for the big reason I wish to have the amazing community members and players of AQ3D have a chance to become a NPC in the VR world! The plan is to have ten winners as NPCs and change them every once in a while to keep it fresh!
And of course, as soon as Battleon is available for all, Greenguard is next!
Beleen: Eeeeeep! I know I’m not alone in saying this, but I simply cannot wait! But I guess we don’t have to wait for Battleon, because it’s already up in VRChat! How do gamers get there?
Sir Arthur the Crusader: You will of course need a PC and to download VRChat free from Steam; a VR headset is not required to play VRChat but highly recommended for the best experience. Once you have your account made, you can go into the World Search menu and easily enter AQ3D to find it!
Beleen: So amazing! All of this sounds so incredible! Thank you so much for all your hard work – the Artix community never ceases to amaze us with their creativity, talent, and determination! And of course, thank you for taking the time to talk to us all today :)
Thank you again Sir Arthur the Crusader for sharing your insights and experiences as a VRChat content creator! Just like in AQ3D, VRChat is a vibrant and ever-evolving community connecting people around the world, and it's because of Artix gamers like YOU who help shape its growth and potential. Thank you for being part of this journey together – we could not have done it without each and every one of you!
Battle on in AQ3D, VRChat, and wherever your adventures take you!
