AQ3D Promotional Capes

In the last few days, these new capes have started showing up EVERYWHERE! They all have weird designs and a wide array of colors... but what do they mean? Where do they come from? How can you get one?

You may recall that Artix went to GDC back in March to meet with other people in gaming. While he was there he got to show the pre-beta of AQ3D off to a lot of reporters and bloggers for lots of game cites. After he returned, this turned into some walkthroughs and interviews with some of the biggest MMO and gaming sites out there.

The articles and interviews on AQ3D did their job and started generating a little buzz which is good for those news sites and great for AQ3D. To try and turn the buzz into real hype, we worked together with twelve sites and gave them each a certain number of Steam Keys for the AQ3D pre-beta and for each site we made a promotional cape to give away with the code. Each cape features a symbol that represents them but we didn't want these capes to look like Nascar jackets with slogans and web URLs all over them so the designs are simple and still fit within the AQ3D world.

Which sites? Well, that's up to you to find out.

We aren't keeping them secret. They are very public but the idea is to bring in NEW players from these sites, not use up all of the limited amount of codes on existing players (although, existing players can get a code and cape if they find them). Some sites have a simple form to fill out to get the code, others require taking part in a raffle and at least one wants you to download a free app but we don't control any of that. How they decide to give away the codes is up to those sites.

From what I've been told, these things went pretty fast. Some sites only asked for as few as 250 codes but others asked for thousands so I would not be surprised to find out that some of these sites have already run their raffles and given away all of their codes but if you want one of these capes and if you're willing to ask around and do some Googling, you can still probably find one.

Just be careful and remember that nobody from any of these sites will ever ask for your passwords. If some players says they will e-mail you a code for your password, report them. They are trying to scam you.

Happy Hunting!
