The last project is a fun upcoming surprise for AdventureQuest 3D.
Last week, we split up into small teams and created 7 fun projects or experiments in a single week. Here is a sneak peek from when we got together to see them for the first! I shot this video on my phone during our game jam review this morning. It was the first time we saw each others game projects. I wish we had recorded the entire review though. Each team talked about their project, their motivation, what they learned, and how we can apply these lessons to our current game projects. I cannot express
It is pretty crazy to see our MMORPG running in pure javascript O_O on a browser. Yup... no plugins, no install, the game just literally loads and runs on your PC or Mac's web browser. Although, LOL, we would not recommend trying to run the web browser version on your phone. Zhoom really out did himself on this! #WeReturnFromWhenceWeCame
I am not sure if larger studios ever take a week to do things like this... but after this experience I think doing it once or twice a year is an absolute must. Not just as a way to recharge our creative batteries, but as a safe way to expand our game making skills and show off different parts of our talents. Sometimes we need a way to show off the things that make us special. From Cysero’s hilarious writing in Dungeonbourne, to Korins comical animation in Dungeon Janitors, to my increasing levels of absurdity in Bigger Sword, it just felt so good to work on something without the restrictions or the pressure of other peoples expectations. We hope you are excited to play these games. We plan on releasing them all.
