The Moglins LIVE Puppet Show is going down today at 6 PM EST (3 PM PST), a little less than five hours from now. You can click the banner below or the link below to watch us do things with the prototype moglin plushies for your entertainment.
When we began the Moglins Kickstarter, we had high hopes that we would meet our mark but we had no idea it was going to blow up like this! We kind of half-jokingly tossed around the idea of a live-streamed puppet show as one of the stretch goals. We set that stretch goal a the unthinkably high $85K mark and, to our wonder, you guys smashed through that stretch goal and are still going strong!
Much to our mingled excitement and horror, it dawned on us that we were really going to have to do this thing live on Twitch.
Sometimes this job gets weird.
Artix will be running the stream while Vesper, Requin, Thyton and I will be doing the live acting for the Moglins but... you have a role too!
You know us. You know that sticking to a set script is not really how we roll. There will be certain parts of the show that are kind of choose-your-own-adventure and the viewers will help decide the outcomes and giving us improv prompts LIVE through the stream's chat.
I'm sure there will be a recorded version that you can watch after the stream is over, but this offers the LIVE viewers a chance to take part in our humiliation for the whole world to enjoy!
We have no idea if this will work... but if anything is more fun than watching a live puppet show, it's watching a live puppet show go down in glorious flames!
*smacks the roof of the puppet show* The production value on this baby will surprise you.
This isn't yer gram-grams Punch and Judy. We're blending green screen technology with animated backgrounds for a top notch.... well, middle notch... OK, a notched experience. Kimberly from One-Eyed Doll even wrote and recorded an original song for the show!
I don't think we even asked her to.
Actually, I'm not even sure how she found out that we were doing this.
... But the song, entitled "We Are The Small Ones", is beautiful and will be featured in the puppet show! We will also provide links to the song if you want to support OED and grab a copy for yourself.
